The chapel in Paraguay was one of our very first places of worship designed. We were tasked by the client to create the chapel into a place of shelter and sanctuary, which was set within a private residential compound in Paraguay. The challenge was to pre-determined all luminaires positions to the cast in situ concrete, which forms the edifice and shelter. Once inside, the glass glazed frames the surrounding landscape, with the cross in focal.
The illumination is meant to be discrete and integrated; expressing the glow from within, creating a silhouette opportunity of the architecture, celebrating the raw materials, frugality and resilience of the faith in Christ.
